A "Grumpy" Tournament is for SCA participants who are at least 40 years old. A "Bear Claw" or "Bear Meat" Tournament is for SCA participants who have not yet won a tournament.

Tournament of St. Sir Ursul - The Grand Tournament of Ursulmas
Held every Saturday at Ursulmas, this tournament is one of the largest in the Knowne World, sometimes even larger than our Crown Tournaments! It begins with Round Robin and ends with the Sweet 16.
Lists will close at 10:30 am due to expected list size. Please check in with Lists as soon as you can.
Tournament will start PROMPTLY at 11:00 am.
 
 
de Noirville Over 40 Tournament:
Come witness the Legends of Old totter onto the Field of Honor. See acts of geriatric prowess as the ancient complete in the 21st annual Gideon de Noirville Memorial Tournament for fighters over 40 years.
Tournament format will be determined day of the event based on the number of entrants.
Entrants must be 40 years or older to enter.
 
 

Period Kit Requirements: 

Sponsored by Decimus Marius Gavinus Brittanicus, Eques

Rules:

  1. No visible plastic except for basket hilts
  2. No visible modern sporting equipment (i.e. visible logos).
  3. Documentation describing your kit (time frame in which kit is attempting to recreate, safety modifications for the sport) must be submitted to Sir Gavinus Brittanicus by email on Thursday, January 24th. This is your preregistration for the tournament (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
  4. Be able to speak about your kit with bravado and gusto for the crowds. This is a demo!
  5. Format will be determined by the number of combatants registered for the tournament

 PRIZE for the winner of the tournament will be a $50 gift card to Crafty Celts.

  

 

 Crested Tournament Requirements: 

Crested tournaments sponsored by Baron Bryson of Aquaterra.
Crests must be foam, paper mache or some other material that can be easily removed/destroyed by a solid shot from a One-Hand Heavy Weapon (i.e. Standard combat sword).
It must be attached to the top of your fighting helm using a method that will allow easy removal such as Duct Tape, Strapping Tape, Velcro, etc.
No metal rods or anything that will prevent a solid shot from removing the crest are allowed.
Crest height is to be a minimum of 7 inches.
Combat will consist of a single one-hand weapon per fighter, no shield or off-hand weapon, grand melee.
Last crest standing is the winner!

Bearclaw Tournament—first tournament Saturday morning and a long standing Ursulmas tradition
Please come and cheer for all those fighters who have not yet won a rapier tournament in An Tir, as fighters face each other for the 1st tournament of the day.

Armor Inspection: 830 am
Lists: open at 815 am.
Tournament Start: 15 minutes after the 10am Court,
: Round robin, depending upon number of figures who enter the list.

This tournament is open to all carded fighters in An Tir, who have not won a rapier tournament. Format will be in a round robin format, with top four fighters advancing then, top two fighters will compete in a best 2 out of 3 final match.

Restrictions: No long-2 handed swords or case will be allowed. No more than 60 inches of blade is allowed

 

Cut and Thrust Tournament
Open to all carded cut and thrust fighters. Cut and thrust continues to grow in momentum , and this is a chance to showcase this rapier format, first thing on Saturday morning, facing more from around the Kingdom of An  Tir

Armor inspection: will begin at 830 am
Lists open: 815 am
Lists Close immediately after the 10am Court--
Tournament Start: to run concurrently with the Bear Claw tournament, cross over allowed
Format: to be determined by number of entrance, likely to be the following:
Fighters will divided into eriks, to fight in a round robin. Top two fighters will advance to a single elimination tournament until finals.

 

Sable Rose Tournament, sponsored by Baroness Angharad
This tournament is opened to all carded An Tir Rapier fighters. The Company of the Sable Rose expounds the ideals of honor and chivalry in any fighter. As the Duchess will be stepping down as the Baroness of Aquaterra, please come and show her the honor, and chivalry of the An Tir Rapier community. Just change the tournament description to say each fighter will introduce themselves and their inspiration to her Excellency and the gallery.

Armor inspection: will begin after Bear claw tournament has concluded, (roughly 1030ish), fighters are welcome to be inspected prior to Bearclaw if they so wish.
Lists open: 815 am—
Lists Close 10 am
Tournament Start: 15 minutes after the end of the Bear claw tournament (1045 ish)
Format: to be determined by number of entrance, likely to be the following:
Fighters will divided into eriks, to fight in a round robin. Top eight fighters will advance to a single elimination tournament until finals.

Restriction: no Case of Rapiers, and No more than 60 inches of blade length is allowed. (Other restricts may be announced by Her Grace at her discretion.)

 

Open field Cadet Style Tournament
All the steel you can eat. This year we will be trying a traditional opened field event, with no restrictions upon how many fighters we have on the field at a time. It is a chance to hunt down and fight the MoD’s and OWS that you have always wanted to fight. Or the person you only get to fight at once or twice a year. Fighters should be aware we have limited space, so please be aware of things around you.

Armor Inspection: will begin at the end of the Sable Rose Tournament.
Lists Open at: 815 am
Lists Close at: 10 am
Tournament Start: 20ish minutes after the end of the Sable Rose

Format: This will be an opened field, lasting for two. 30 minutes with a 10 minute break in between.
Restrictions: no Case of Rapiers, no long-two handed swords and No more than 60 inches of blade length is allowed.
