This is a first level service award. The person being considered for this award should have consistently participated in work parties, volunteers for event functions such as gate, marshaling, willing to assist with set up and/or take down for events and other functions, and generally been ready and able to offer a helping hand.

Order of the Golden Estoile

This is the second level service award. A person being considered to receive this award has consistently given of their time and talents during that entire time. This person may have held several offices, been event steward for many events, cooked many feasts, or may even have been a member of the Sergeantry for several years. They should have already received a Silver Dolphin.

Order of the Green Bear

Or, a bear sejant erect affronty and a bordure nebuly vert

This is regarded as a third level service award. The person being considered for this award would have a long history of consistent selfless service to the Barony and would probably already have been given a Silver Dolphin and a Golden Estoile or have performed an unusual and outstanding service which was beyond the usual level of expectation of one of our members.

This is the first level arts and sciences award. A person who is being considered for this award is always ready to contribute to the beauty of events through decorations, the knowledge base of the Barony through participating in arts and sciences contests and/or through teaching their skills to others.

Order of the Blue Stag

This is the second level arts and sciences award. Those considered for this award should have already received a Plate. They should have a long history of consistently being available to teach or otherwise share their skills or knowledge. They have probably held office as Baronial scribe, herald, minister of arts and sciences, or one of the deputy positions such as bardic or dance deputy. They may have won championships within our own or other branches, or taught Ithra classes. They may have made items of regalia. They may be a Courtier within the Sergeantry for several years.

This third level award was created to honor those persons sustaining a desire to share their talents, skills and knowledge and who promote an interest and understanding in others of the arts and sciences for the glory of the Baron, the Baroness, and the Barony of Aquaterra. It is given in recognition to those who have added to the beauty and pageantry of the Barony and have helped to increase the interaction of the populace with the arts and sciences.

Azure, a butterfly Or marked sable within a bordure nebuly Or

This is an arts and sciences award. The youth who is being considered for this award is not only interested in creating arts and sciences items and entering arts and sciences competitions, but also is willing to teach their skills to others.

Order of the Green Seahorse

Or, a seahorse and a bordure nebuly vert

This is a service award. The youth who is being considered for this award would be one who actively volunteers to help others by doing such tasks as water-bearing, running errands, and helping set up or take down event sites.

Order of the Red Boar

This is an award given for chivalry. The youth who is being considered for this award displays all the courtesy, care and honor expected from a gentle person, not only for those who are older but also to their peers. Many of our young people know and are willing to extend the proper forms of address, exemplary manners, and great respect to those around them, and we feel that this attitude should not only be encouraged, but should be celebrated.

Order of the Falcon's Talon

Order of the Falcon’s Talon

This order was created by our Founding Baron, Julian Edward Farnsworth of Falconmoors, OL, as the highest honor to be bestowed upon a person by the Coronets of Aquaterra. It is given only at Good Yule and is awarded to a single person each year.

The Order represents a lifetime achievement of service and devotion within and to the Barony of Aquaterra.

This is a polling Order and members who have been inducted into the Order extend their recommendation to Their Excellencies who make the final decision based upon those recommendations.

Recommendations for this Order from the populace who are not members may be given to any current member of the Order.

Bestowed by the Coronets to the many individuals and groups who contribute to the word fame of the Barony through donations of time, treasure, and service in the creation of largesse, clothing for the Baron & Baroness, Baronial scrolls, Baronial regalia, and anything else created on behalf of the Barony.

The Shield of St. Ursul

The Shield of St. Ursul

The Shield of St. Ursul is an award meant to honor those who have significantly contributed, and by their very presence, improved the marshaling community in Aquaterra. The long term contributions of this recipient to the martial activities of the Barony, be they Armored, Rapier, Archery, or Thrown Weapons should encompass their actions on the field of competition and in the instruction and guidance of others thereby strengthening the community overall.


Merchant Commendations

The Merchant Commendation is given by the Coronets of the Barony of Aquaterra upon the recommendation of other merchants and is meant to recognize those merchants who contribute to the overall quality of events, especially those held in Aquaterra. To be eligible to receive this award the merchant should have gone above the average effort to provide a booth with proper medieval atmosphere, offer for sale goods that reflect the SCA period, served repeatedly as a Merchant Steward, gone beyond the expected level in serving customers, SCA and modern alike, in a courteous and helpful manner, or any other like manner of service to enjoyment and smooth running of the event.
